Hired a KOL and Still No Leads? Check the Path Before You Pay the Creator.
A 100k-follower creator can put your business in front of a lot of people. They can’t make those people buy. That part is yours, and it starts the moment someone taps through from the reel: Do they know what you offer? Do they know how to buy it? Is the next step clear, or do they have to guess?
Most of the work is done before the creator posts a single frame.
Start with the audience. Know who you’re selling to, what they care about, and which creators they already follow and trust. A creator with a big audience that doesn’t match your buyer gives you views, not customers. Views are useful for the creator’s account. They are not the same as sales for yours.
Then read the package closely. A rate card tells you the price, not the outcome. Ask what you’re actually getting: a long-form reel or a short one, how long it stays up, whether the creator will reply to comments, tag your account, or share the post to stories. Check what else they can offer before you commit. Then check the price against your budget before anything else.
Once the creator is booked, your side needs to be ready to receive. Your bio should say who you serve, where you are, how to contact you, and what to do next. Your link should land on something that makes the next step obvious. If buying from you takes a few steps, like a form, a registration, or a visit with directions, spell those steps out in a pinned post or a walkthrough reel. Don’t make the buyer work out the process from scratch.
Your first auto-reply should collect the details you need, not tell people your opening hours. They can check your Google Business Profile for that. Speaking of which: if you have strong reviews, put them where buyers will see them. A 4.8 or 4.9 rating belongs in your reel and your profile, not buried on a page nobody visits.
A creator can get people to notice you. Your funnel is what turns that attention into bookings. Set it up before the post goes live.
